Originally I wanted to set this blog up a while ago and keep track of some of the things we were doing to get ready for the baby. Since that did not happen, my new plan was to create a number of entries and back date them based on the photos I have taken of the various projects/tasks, but I have not had time to make that happen either, so instead, I am just going to make this one post with some dates and photos.
2008.08.28 - We got new windows installed in the house.
2008.09.09 - We confirm Danika is pregnant with a home pregnancy test.
2008.11.05 - We got the see the baby with an ultrasound.
2008.12.30 - Finished my private pilot's license and started focusing more of my attention on getting ready for the baby.
2009.01 - Started pulling the trim boards off the windows and walls to refinish them.
2009.01.27 - One of the walls fell off in the baby's room when pulling the trim boards off.
2009.03.12 - Continue working on stripping the boards.
2009.03.12 - Prep the room so Orion can patch the hole.
2009.03.14 - Patched and ready for painting.
2009.03.27 - Started stripping the door.
2009.04.17 - Bathroom is painted, boards back up on the window and new shower curtain rod.
2009.04.17 - Stripping door frames in baby's room.
2009.04.17 - Windows stained and sealed in baby's room.
2009.04.17 - Stripping boards for small window in baby's room.
2009.04.22 - Stripped door and base board.
2009.04.22 - Stripped vent.
2009.05.02 - We were finally able to pick up the car!
2009.05.06 - Danika's belly.
2009.05.07 - Stained and ready to seal.
2009.05.08 - Sealed and ready to go back on.
2009.05.09 - Base boards and base shoe back on!
2009.05.10 - For mother's day, I tell Danika I will stop the remodeling work and start working on other items on the baby list.
2009.05.12 - Door stained and sealed.
2009.05.13 - Rug laid out and dresser built.
2009.05.16 - Baby's due date, and when I finally stop the remodeling work and Danika and I start working other items on the baby list.
2009.05.16 - Crib built.
2009.05.20 - Door and door trim back on.
2009.05.20 - Basement cleaned and tools put away.
2009.05.20 - Waiting to for the baby to arrive!
